Job Title: Internal Auditor / Internal Control Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Internal Auditor / Internal Control Officer to oversee and strengthen the company’s internal control systems across operations, purchasing, inventory management, and financial processes. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, operational audit experience, and a solid background in the Shipping / Marine industry.
The candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, compliance with company procedures, and prevention of unnecessary or duplicate purchases.
Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Inventory Control
- Verify stock availability before approving new purchase requests
- Prevent excess, duplicate, or unnecessary purchasing
- Compare supplier quotations, market prices, and procurement terms
- Monitor purchasing procedures, approvals, and documentation
- Conduct regular inventory audits and physical stock verification
- Ensure proper inventory control and warehouse management practices
Invoice & Financial Verification
- Review supplier invoices, quotations, LPOs, and payment documents
- Verify pricing accuracy, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Identify unusual expenses, pricing discrepancies, and cost variations
- Ensure proper financial records and documentation are maintained
- Support management in strengthening financial controls and cost-saving measures
Operational Audit & Compliance
- Monitor daily operational activities and compliance with company procedures
- Review workflow efficiency and identify operational gaps
- Conduct periodic audits across departments, warehouses, and operational sites
- Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist management in implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies
Reporting
- Prepare detailed audit reports and findings for management review
- Submit recommendations for process improvement and cost control
- Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, Inventory Control, or Operational Audit
- Mandatory experience in Shipping / Marine / Logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, inventory, and warehouse operations
- Good understanding of ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of UAE business operations, documentation, and compliance procedures
Additional Requirements
- UAE Valid Driving License is mandatory
- Candidate must be willing to travel between company locations, warehouses, suppliers, vessels, and operational sites when required
