Position Overview
On The Table is seeking an Internal Communications Associate who takes pride in making sure everything we put in front of our teams is clear, accurate, and consistent. This is fundamentally a writing and editing role with a strong systems backbone - the ideal candidate can take rough input from subject matter experts across Operations, HR, Marketing, and Leadership and turn it into polished, publish-ready material that is organized, on-brand, and built to last. This person cares deeply about the quality and clarity of the written word, thrives in a structured environment with defined workflows and templates, and understands that getting the details right is not a small thing - it is the job.
Responsibilities
-
Work with content and input from Operations, HR, Marketing, and Leadership - whether polished or unstructured - and produce accurate, publish-ready versions that maintain the integrity of the subject matter.
-
Serve as the quality control checkpoint for all outbound content, verifying accuracy, formatting consistency, and appropriate routing before materials reach operating units or operators.
-
Build, maintain, and enforce a document and SOP library with clear version control, ownership, and retirement workflows - ensuring the organization always has access to current, accurate materials.
-
Own the internal communications calendar and coordinate the flow of information across departments, proactively tracking outstanding items and following up with stakeholders to ensure nothing is missed or distributed late.
-
Serve as the primary administrator of the company's SharePoint intranet structure, maintaining it as the central content hub for all operating units.
-
Lead the collection and coordination of menu content details across departments, managing accuracy, deadlines, and cross-functional input to support timely publication and distribution.
-
Support the operational execution of marketing initiatives - including content scheduling, asset formatting, and distribution across relevant platforms - without ownership of creative direction or campaign strategy.
-
Assist Director of Marketing with local store marketing asset distribution, ensuring the right promotional materials reach the right locations at the right time.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or the Humanities required. We are looking for someone who cherishes the written word first and brings impressive organizational skills as a close second.
-
A background or coursework in journalism, technical writing, or copywriting is of interest, particularly when paired with demonstrated operational or coordination experience.
-
Proven ability to build and maintain templates, process documentation, and organizational systems - not just execute tasks within them.
-
Strong editorial judgment and professional confidence. This role requires the ability to assess whether content is truly ready for distribution, and the willingness to push back respectfully when it isn't.
- Experience managing or administering a learning management system (LMS) or training platform strongly preferred.
-
Highly proficient in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and Office applications.
-
Fluency with AI tools and emerging productivity technologies; ability to integrate AI-assisted workflows into daily work.
-
Exceptional attention to detail - this role requires accuracy in granular content, not just big-picture communication.
-
Strong cross-functional coordination skills; able to manage information flow across multiple stakeholders without direct authority over them.
-
Persistent, deadline-dependable, and organized; comfortable following up repeatedly to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
-
Restaurant or hospitality industry experience a plus but not required.
