1. Core Responsibilities
Internal Communications Delivery
- Support the planning and execution of the Group and OSBI internal communications strategy to inform, engage and connect colleagues to our business, culture and values.
- Partner with the UK Internal Communications team on day-to-day activity including campaigns, stories, leadership communications and key initiatives.
- Maintain and update the internal communications planner to ensure activity is prioritised, coordinated and well-sequenced.
- Act as a brand and tone-of-voice ambassador, ensuring communications are clear, inclusive, on-brand and consistent across all channels.
- Own and manage the Internal Communications mailbox, resolving requests where possible and triaging queries efficiently to the right stakeholders.
- Apply clear judgement on priorities, turnaround times and escalation where needed.
- Identify recurring themes or pain points from mailbox queries and feed insights back into channel improvements or FAQs.
Channel Governance & Visual Standards
- Own day-to-day maintenance of internal communications channels, ensuring consistent use of: Templates, Tone of Voice (ToV), Visual and brand identity standards
- Create and maintain simple guidelines for internal communicators and contributors to ensure high-quality, consistent outputs.
- Design or coordinate creation of visual assets such as banners, posters and digital signage.
- Source and curate imagery for internal communications, ensuring appropriate usage and brand alignment.
- Manage deployment of content across physical and digital channels including TV screens, posters and collaboration spaces.
Channel Modernization & Platform Ownership
Play a key role in the modernization of internal communications platforms, including: -
- migration of our intranet content to SharePoint Online, and the
- implementation and adoption of Viva Engage and Amplify.
- Work with IT, Digital and UK stakeholders to support configuration, testing, rollout and adoption of new platforms.
- Act as a platform super-user and local subject matter expert for internal communications tools
- Continuously review channel effectiveness and recommend improvements to structure, usability and employee experience.
Insight, Risk & Compliance
- Support measurement of channel performance and engagement, using available analytics and insights to inform improvements.
- Ensure all communications comply with Risk Management, Data Governance and regulatory requirements relevant to financial services.
- Maintain high standards of data protection and confidentiality in all communications activities.
- Complete all mandatory training and compliance requirements in a timely manner.
2. Experience Requirements
This role is suitable for candidates looking to deepen their expertise in digital internal communications and employee platforms, while continuing to work in a fast-paced, people-first environment.
Essential:- Minimum 3 years’ experience in internal communications, digital communications or employee engagement roles.
- Hands-on experience managing digital communication channels and responding to stakeholder requests.
- Experience creating and adapting content for different internal audiences.
Desirable:- Experience working in a matrixed or global organization.
- Experience supporting platform migrations or rollouts (e.g. SharePoint, intranets, collaboration tools).
- Experience working closely with IT or Digital teams on communications platforms.
3. Knowledge Requirements
Essential:
Strong understanding of internal communications and employee engagement principles.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, particularly SharePoint Online, Teams and PowerPoint.
Confidence working with templates, brand guidelines and digital assets.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
Knowledge or hands-on experience with Viva Engage, Amplify or similar employee communications platforms.
Understanding of content governance, channel frameworks and adoption best practices.
Basic understanding of analytics and engagement metrics.
Familiarity with brand, marketing or digital design principles.
