  • Complete in-person medical rounds at the facility for a few hours per week, including client check-ins, review of active medical concerns, coordination with nursing staff, and documentation of findings in the EMR.
  • Develop and update medical plans of care in collaboration with the Medical Director and nursing team.

  • Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Adult-Gerontology, or related primary care background strongly preferred.
  • DEA registration required.
  • Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs registration required.
  • Experience with substance use disorder treatment, withdrawal management, psychiatric comorbidity, or residential behavioral health preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medication safety, documentation standards, medical necessity, and scope of practice.
  • Ability to make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced detox setting.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with nursing, clinical, admissions, and executive leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Detox, residential treatment, addiction medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, correctional health, or psychiatric medical experience.
  • Experience with CIWA-Ar, COWS, benzodiazepine tapers, alcohol withdrawal protocols, buprenorphine induction or continuation, and medically complex clients.
  • Familiarity with Kipu or similar behavioral health EMR systems.

Work Environment

Renewal Springs provides medically supervised withdrawal management in a structured behavioral health setting. The APRN must be comfortable working with clients who may present with acute withdrawal symptoms, co-occurring psychiatric conditions, medical instability, trauma histories, and high emotional distress.

This is not a passive prescribing role. The right candidate must be clinically engaged, responsive, documentation-focused, and able to help the team make safe decisions quickly.
