International Medical Graduates/Pre-Med Students - Scrub Tech

Associates in Nephrology, a leading association of kidney specialists, is looking for International Medical graduates or premed students taking a gap, enrichment year. While working, you'll gain valuable experience and letters of recommendation.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborates with team members and others by assisting patients in confirming their identity and allergies
• Assures emergency equipment and supplies are always available such as a defibrillator, monitor etc.
• Prepares for procedures by checking the schedule, wearing proper clothing, setting up case, arranging drapes and sterile supplies
• Assists during procedures by draping the patient, gives the proper instruments and sutures to physician, removes, and discards soiled sponges, prepares sutures for closure and the necessary dressing
• Removes and disposes of used instruments and disposable items from procedures into sharps container and discards all disposable items including back table drape in the proper container
• Prepares room for each appointment by ensuing no specimens or blood remain in room, assists with room turnover, changes anesthesia suction container and tubing, places disposable articles in the proper container, places linen in linen container, cleans all equipment in procedure room with disinfectant spray, and cleans floor with disinfectant spray and mop
• Other duties as assigned

• A pre-med track
• International Medical Graduates
• Bilingual: Spanish preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
