Internship (Academic Credit) - Finance & Marketing Intern

Plootus is a mobile app available for both Apple and Android stores. Based out of Connecticut in the USA, Plootus has developed an easy to use & integrated financial planning tool for retirement, focused especially on the 401(k) market which according to Koski research is the only or largest source for retirement planning for 60% of the people. The tool integrates all expenses, income, and investments of an individual. With minimal inputs, it suggests investment options based on individual risk profiles and estimated retirement needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Marketing

• Research new digital marketing ideas to attract users
• Perform competitive analysis and understand what’s working and what’s not working
• Work with the team to determine how to increase SEO backlinks to Plootus website
• Reach out to prospective clients in B2C and B2B segments
• Work with designers to draft posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest
• Draft and lead email campaigns

Finance

• Analyze the performance of various mutual funds
• Create clean and easy to follow Excel workbook and PowerPoint presentations
• Automate and use macros to simplify the process
• Keep a tab on global market news
• Create financial models
• Perform industry analysis
• Write blogs and work and support other team members

Skill(s) That Would Be Helpful

• Prior marketing experience with a focus on digital marketing such SEO, ASO, and SMO
• Ability to write and articulate messages with a focus on clarity and brevity
• Python & R programming
• SQL / Databases skills preferred
• Financial modeling, portfolio analytics
• Understanding of ETFs / Mutual Funds / Stocks
• Good Excel knowledge (automation preferred)
