Position Summary
Forward Edge-AI is seeking two Cybersecurity Red Team Interns to support the testing and evaluation of advanced encryption platforms within the Advanced Research & Technology team.
This role focuses on executing structured test plans, performing red teaming activities, and conducting adversarial simulations against encryption devices. Interns will contribute to identifying vulnerabilities, validating security controls, and strengthening the overall security posture of secure communication systems.
This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in offensive security, red teaming, and secure systems validation.
Key Responsibilities
Red Teaming & Adversarial Testing
- Execute structured test plans against encryption devices and secure communication systems
- Perform red teaming exercises to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses
- Conduct adversarial simulations to evaluate system resilience under attack scenarios
- Identify potential attack vectors and document findings
Security Validation & Analysis
- Test anomaly detection functionality and validate detection thresholds
- Evaluate obfuscation mechanisms under simulated attack conditions
- Support validation of red/black separation architecture
- Assist in testing management plane security controls
Data Collection & Reporting
- Capture test results, logs, and observations during testing activities
- Produce clear technical documentation and reports outlining findings and recommendations
- Support analysis of system performance under adversarial conditions
Collaboration & Integration Support
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams during testing cycles
- Assist in resolving integration challenges and validating system improvements
- Participate in technical discussions related to system security and architecture
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- Coursework or hands-on experience in cybersecurity fundamentals
- Exposure to red teaming concepts or offensive security methodologies
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
- Basic understanding of encryption concepts and secure communications
- Experience using tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or similar security tools
- Ability to follow structured test plans and accurately document results
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to penetration testing tools or frameworks
- Familiarity with Linux environments or command-line tools
- Understanding of network security architectures or secure system design
- Interest in defense, secure communications, or advanced cyber technologies
