We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the specialized field of educational finance. You will work alongside experienced professionals to understand the day-to-day operations of a school accounting department and contribute to meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Help prepare and process monthly payroll for faculty and staff.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budget-to-actual analyses.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and gathering documentation.
- Learn and utilize accounting software specific to the education sector
- Maintain organized and confidential financial records.
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned to support the Office.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong interest in a career in accounting, preferably within the education or non-profit sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus).
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
