Internship - Remote Software Engineering Intern

About ATOM:
ATOM is an open-source AI-powered automation platform that lets users “talk to an AI assistant” to automate workflows — including integrations across many services, scheduling, task management, and more. The project uses a full-stack stack with a Python (FastAPI) backend + TypeScript / Next.js frontend. (GitHub)

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated intern from India to help contribute to ATOM’s codebase. This role offers real-world experience working on a production-ready full-stack open-source project. You will collaborate with maintainers to build features, fix bugs, improve documentation, and help with quality assurance (tests, integration, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Work on frontend (React/Next.js + TypeScript) or backend (Python + FastAPI) — depending on your skills and interest
• Implement new features and enhancements in ATOM’s codebase
• Fix bugs, optimize performance, and write tests
• Help maintain project documentation
• Collaborate via GitHub: create pull requests, respond to issues, participate in code reviews

What We’re Looking For

Required / Desired Skills:

• Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python
• Basic knowledge of web-development concepts (frontend or backend)
• Familiarity with Git / GitHub workflows (cloning repos, pull requests, branching)
• Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude, good communication skills
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate asynchronously

Nice-to-Have (but not required):

• Experience with Next.js / React
• Experience with building or maintaining open-source projects
• Familiarity with writing tests / automated testing
• Experience with REST APIs, OAuth integrations, or database work
