A major oil and gas service company is seeking an experienced Interpretation Geophysicist for a 5-month assignment based in Al Khafji. The role is suited to a senior professional with over 20 years of industry experience and strong expertise in seismic interpretation using Petrel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to map subsurface structures, stratigraphy, and fault systems.
• Perform seismic-to-well tie, horizon picking, fault interpretation, and depth conversion.
• Integrate geophysical interpretation with well logs, drilling data, geological models, and petrophysical results.
• Identify and assess prospects, leads, and play concepts, including volumetric estimation and risk analysis.
• Support well planning and placement, including drilling hazard identification.
• Conduct structural, stratigraphic, and attribute-based interpretation to evaluate reservoir presence and quality.
• Collaborate closely with geologists, petrophysicists, reservoir and drilling engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to field development planning, redevelopment studies, and subsurface uncertainty reduction.
• Document and present interpretation results, maps, and technical reports to stakeholders and management

• Strong knowledge of seismic interpretation principles, wave propagation, and rock physics.

• Proficiency with industry-standard interpretation software (e.g., Petrel).

• Experience integrating geophysical and geological datasets.

• Ability to assess structural and stratigraphic traps and reservoir continuity.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Relevant experience in exploration, development, or production geophysics.
• Knowledge of regional geology and basin analysis is an advantage.
