Job Summary
The Intervention Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic and social development, particularly those with diverse learning needs. This position involves collaborating with educators, parents, and specialists to create tailored educational plans that promote student success. The Intervention Specialist will utilize various teaching strategies and technologies to enhance learning outcomes and foster a positive classroom environment.

Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized curriculum plans that cater to the unique needs of students.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
  • Provide specialized support in areas such as literacy education, math, and early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design lesson plans that incorporate effective classroom management techniques.
  • Offer tutoring and academic advising to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment for students with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in all classroom activities.
  • Engage in conflict management strategies to address behavioral challenges effectively.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in instructional design and special education.

Skills

  • Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Proficiency in using learning technology and LMS platforms.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and understanding of behavior management techniques.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, including preschool and toddler care.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Classroom experience, particularly in special education settings or private schools.
  • Ability to implement Montessori methods or similar educational philosophies.
  • Skills in writing educational materials and documentation for student assessments.
  • Experience teaching physical education or library services is a plus. The Intervention Specialist is dedicated to creating an inclusive educational atmosphere that encourages all students to thrive academically and socially.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $43.00 - $46.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
