Intl. Tax Manager

Job Description

As a Tax Manager, you will lead complex U.S. international mostly inbound tax engagements for Brix & Partners LLC’s predominantly European client base. The role requires strong technical expertise in U.S. taxation of foreign individuals, entities, trusts, and family office structures, combined with client ownership, staff supervision, and engagement management responsibilities.

The Tax Manager plays a key role in delivering high‑quality tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, while supervising senior and junior professionals and acting as a technical resource within the firm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage U.S. inbound and international tax engagements for foreign individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and family offices
  • Oversee preparation and review of complex U.S. federal tax returns and international information returns
  • Advise on entity classification, ownership attribution rules, treaty positions, and inbound structuring considerations
  • Analyze trust and foundation structures from a U.S. tax perspective, including trust qualification (grantor vs. non-grantor), U.S. beneficiary implications, and reporting consequences
  • Manage Pre‑Immigration Planning engagements, including asset basis analysis, income sourcing, and minimizing adverse U.S. tax and reporting impacts upon U.S. residency
  • Serve as primary client contact on technical matters; explain complex U.S. tax concepts clearly to international clients and advisors
  • Conduct and review advanced tax research and technical memoranda on cross‑border and international tax issues
  • Supervise and review responses to IRS and U.S. tax authority inquiries
  • Manage, mentor, and develop senior and junior staff, including technical training, review of work papers, and performance evaluations

Requirements and Qualifications

  • CPA required; advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Accounting / Tax) preferred
  • Several years of progressive experience in U.S. international and inbound taxation, ideally in public accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
  • U.S. taxation of foreign individuals and entities
  • International information reporting and compliance
  • Trust and fiduciary taxation
  • PFIC and anti‑deferral regimes
  • Demonstrated experience managing client engagements and supervising professional staff
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with international clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and U.S. tax research platforms
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Pay: $190,000.00 - $235,000.00 per year
