Invasive Cardiac Technologist-Cath Lab Tech

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Invasive Cardiac Technologist-Cath Lab Tech to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. In this vital role, you will assist in performing complex diagnostic and interventional procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Your expertise will contribute to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular conditions, ensuring high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside cardiologists and healthcare professionals committed to advancing cardiovascular health at an ambulatory surgical center. The position does not require being on call or working on holidays or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the cath lab for scheduled procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques are in place.
  • Assist cardiologists during invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular interventions, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional cardiovascular techniques.
  • Monitor patient vital signs continuously using telemetry systems, and assess physiological responses throughout procedures.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure patient safety during all invasive interventions.
  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized imaging equipment.
  • Document procedural details accurately, including patient responses, contrast media used, and technical observations.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to invasive cardiology.
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) certification

Skills

  • Strong understanding of interventional cardiovascular procedures and techniques.
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting vital signs in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to the cardiovascular system and physiology principles essential for diagnostic accuracy.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and infection control standards within a cath lab environment.

  • Knowledge of cardiology, electrophysiology, pacemakers and related equipment.
  • Ability to use radiographic equipment and handle patients who present in a variety of conditions.
  • Ability to wear lead protective gear for long periods.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist or RCIS as a Cardiovascular Specialist
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
