Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing inventory control, planning, reporting, and data analytics to optimize stock levels and enhance operational efficiency. A strong background in inventory management, demand forecasting, and advanced analytical skills is required to maintain accurate inventory, reduce discrepancies, and ensure the availability of materials while preventing overstocking. This role will require a collaborative approach across teams to drive continuous improvement in inventory processes and performance.


Main Roles & Responsibilities:


1.Material Cataloguing & Master Data Governance

•Create, review, and maintain material master records in SAP using the MDG and MM modules, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

•Develop and maintain standardized material descriptions, classification, and coding structures in line with Oil & Gas industry cataloguing standards.

•Liaise with technical, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure correct material attributes, and specifications.

•Conduct regular cleansing exercises to maintain a clean, reliable material master database.

•Support implementation and continuous improvement of Material Master Data Governance processes.


2.Inventory Control & Accuracy

•Monitor inventory levels across all operational locations to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.

•Reconcile physical inventory with SAP records; identify discrepancies, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

•Ensure proper categorization of items (critical, non-critical, consumables, spares, etc.) and alignment with cataloguing standards.

•Support periodic cycle counts and annual physical verifications in coordination with warehouse teams.


3.MRP Support & Material Planning

•Support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) runs in SAP to ensure timely replenishment of stock and optimal inventory levels.

•Monitor material availability, lead times, and reorder points to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

•Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to adjust MRP parameters based on demand, usage trends, and project requirements.

•Analyze MRP results and provide recommendations to optimize stock levels and reduce working capital.


4.Reporting & Data Analytics

•Develop and maintain inventory performance dashboards and KPIs (e.g., accuracy %, stock aging, stock turnover).

•Analyze material consumption trends, usage history, and stock movement data to optimize inventory holding and replenishment.

•Identify and highlight slow-moving or obsolete materials, particularly drilling and downhole equipment items.

•Provide insights into cost optimization and efficiency improvement.


5.Process Improvement & Compliance

•Support standardization of inventory and cataloguing processes across company operations.

•Participate in audits, provide supporting data, and implement recommended actions.

•Support digitalization and automation initiatives related to inventory, master data, and MRP.


Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, and data analytics, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control systems and MRP processes.
  • Proficient in SAP S4HANA, particularly MDG and MM modules (material creation, classification, cataloguing workflows).
  • Skilled in Excel and data analysis tools (Power BI, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective coordination and communication across cross-functional teams
  • Process-oriented and compliance-driven mindset
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas materials cataloguing, particularly drilling, and downhole equipment.
  • Previous experience in the E&P sector, petrochemicals, or similar industries in roles such as Cataloguing Specialist, Inventory Controller, or Materials Engineer is highly desirable.
  • Leadership characteristics with an ability to lead a team/project
