Position Summary
The Inventory Analyst analyses inventory data to maintain optimal stock levels, improve inventory accuracy, reduce carrying costs, and support operational efficiency. This role collaborates closely with purchasing, warehouse, finance, and sales teams to ensure effective inventory control and demand planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily inventory levels and ensure stock availability
- Analyze inventory trends, demand patterns, and turnover rates
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate variances
- Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models
- Generate reports on stock levels, slow-moving items, and obsolete inventory
- Recommend reorder points and safety stock levels
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams on replenishment planning
- Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and cycle counts
- Optimize inventory processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Support ERP or inventory management system maintenance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, Operations, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or data analysis
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI)
- Knowledge of inventory management methodologies (JIT, EOQ, ABC analysis)
- SQL or basic programming knowledge
- APICS/CPIM certification
