Inventory Clerk
An Inventory Clerk plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate records of a company’s inventory. This position involves tracking, organizing, and monitoring inventory levels to ensure smooth operations and meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Tracking:
- Maintain up-to-date records of all items in stock.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile physical counts with system records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system data.
Data Entry and Documentation:
- Accurately input and update inventory data into the company’s inventory management system.
- Prepare inventory reports and provide regular updates to management and relevant departments.
- Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions, including receiving, issuing, and returns.
Organization and Maintenance:
- Organize inventory in a systematic and efficient manner to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
- Consolidate stock to eliminate parts being stored in multiple locations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly inventory storage area.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when handling inventory.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in inventory control or related roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be able to perform basic math (computational) calculations.
- Effective communications skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects if required.
