Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Container Coordinator to manage and monitor the flow and availability of shipping containers across various ports, depots, and customer sites. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal container utilization and timely return to maintain operational efficiency and reduce demurrage and detention costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor container movement across ports, depots, and customer facilities.

Track daily inventory of empty and loaded containers in various locations.

Update container status in the system (e.g., available, loaded, in transit, under repair, returned).

Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, terminals, and depots to ensure accurate container availability and allocation.

Maintain up-to-date container tracking logs and ensure proper documentation.

Generate daily/weekly/monthly container inventory reports and KPIs.

Identify and escalate discrepancies or damages related to container usage.

Work closely with the sales and operations teams to forecast container requirements based on bookings.

Minimize detention, demurrage, and storage costs through proactive container management.

Support import/export documentation and container release processes where required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in container inventory or equipment control, preferably with an NVOCC or shipping/logistics company.

Familiarity with shipping documentation, container types, and port/depot operations.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficient in Excel and container tracking software (e.g., EDI systems, ERP tools).

Effective communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in coordinating with ICDs/CFS, terminals, and container depots.

Knowledge of container leasing agreements and maintenance/repair cycles.

Understanding of key trade lanes and container flow patterns.
