Inventory Control and Office Manager

Role Overview:

As the Inventory Control & Office Manager, you are a key team member in monitoring and maintaining the overall accuracy, reporting and adequacy of inventory. This role manages all aspects of inventory control, returns and driver check-ins including managing the physical counting and necessary reporting processes. The incumbent will work hand in hand with the General Manager & Operations Manager and will plan and oversee the daily floor operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved, while your focus will be on interfacing with the customer via operations email, entering new receivers into the warehouse management system (WMS), coordinating responses for inventory accuracy and processing administrative paperwork for outbound orders and inbound appointments.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors inventory rotations and make recommendations as needed.
  • Prepares report(s) such as inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, and production breakdowns.
  • Reviews and investigates daily reports.
  • Create and implement best practices and solutions to enhance inventory control and accuracy.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate counts.
  • Hires and trains Inventory Control staff.
  • Oversee the job assignments and activities of Inventory Control staff.
  • Collaborates with warehouse managers to provide performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
  • Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
  • Communicate with the warehouse employees and customers as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
  • Oversee the administrative team in the warehouse office to ensure support of inbound and outbound office. This includes, but not limited to: staffing, training, support and performance management.
  • Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.
  • Responsible for Customer Order Processing & Billing through System
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Position:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certification through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) preferred.
  • Five years of related experience required.
  • Three years’ managerial and supervisor experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management in a warehouse setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
  • Ability to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to listen and take direction agreeably

Work Requirements:

  • Must be flexible and be able to work overtime
  • Must be willing to work weekends and evenings
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Physical Work Environment:

This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as cold temperatures, loud noises, and dust and dirt. The work performed will be repetitive in nature.
