Inventory Controller (Shipping)

Inventory Controller The Inventory Controller will be responsible for managing the inventory of spare parts, consumables, tools, and stores for the fleet. The role includes inventory planning, stock control, purchasing coordination, and record management to ensure timely availability of required items onboard and optimal stock levels at warehouses or storage facilities. Key Responsibilities: Manage inventory of marine spares, tools, stores, and consumables across all vessels and shore-based storage. Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking. Coordinate with Technical Superintendents, Chief Engineers, and Procurement teams for requisitions and supply chain planning. Implement and manage inventory control systems (PMS/ERP), ensuring accuracy and traceability. Analyze consumption trends, lead times, and critical spares usage to forecast future needs. Ensure proper documentation and tagging of received, issued, and returned materials. Perform periodic stock audits onboard vessels and at shore facilities. Coordinate deliveries, customs clearance, and logistics with suppliers and agents worldwide. Work closely with the procurement department for purchase planning, price comparisons, and vendor performance tracking. Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and implement disposal or optimization strategies. Maintain up-to-date inventory records in compliance with company policies and maritime regulations. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Marine Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in inventory or supply chain management, preferably in the maritime or offshore sector. Familiarity with vessel PMS and inventory software Good understanding of marine spare parts, tools, and shipboard inventory systems. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in MS Excel and inventory tracking tools. UAE driving license is mandatory. Preferred Attributes: Previous experience with ship technical or procurement departments is a strong advantage. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills and team coordination across departments. Knowledge of import/export documentation and logistics is a plus Note: Knowledge about the Marine Warehouse tools & Goods name will be given top priority

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
