Position - Inventory & Logistic manager

location - Taloja, Navi mumbai

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the inventory control and logistics operations for herbal and ayurvedic product manufacturing, ensuring raw materials, packaging items, and finished goods are efficiently stored, tracked, and distributed. The role focuses on optimizing supply chain processes, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring timely dispatch to distributors, clients, and retail partners while complying with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management

• Monitor and control raw materials, herbal extracts, excipients, packaging materials, and finished goods inventory.
• Maintain stock levels as per production and sales forecast, ensuring zero stock-outs and overstocking.
• Implement FIFO/FEFO and batch/lot tracking system as per GMP compliance.
• Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation with ERP/Tally systems.
• Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive herbal ingredients and ayurvedic formulations.

Logistics & Dispatch

• Plan and execute daily dispatches to distributors, clients, e-commerce partners, and company outlets.
• Coordinate with transporters, courier services, and freight forwarders for domestic and export consignments.
• Ensure accurate documentation (E-way bills, invoices, shipping bills, export licenses, COA, MSDS, etc.).
• Optimize transport costs while maintaining timely delivery commitments.
• Handle returns, damages, and reverse logistics efficiently.

Coordination & Compliance

• Work closely with Production, QA, QC, Procurement, and Sales teams for smooth supply chain flow.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (Ayush, FSSAI, GMP, FDA, Customs for exports).
• Implement SOPs for material handling, storage, and dispatch.
• Maintain MIS reports on inventory status, stock ageing, slow-moving items, and dispatch performance.

Team & Process Management

• Supervise warehouse staff, forklift operators, and dispatch team members.
• Train team members in inventory management systems, safety, and hygiene practices.
• Continuously improve warehouse layout, storage utilization, and logistic operations.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (Tally ERP, SAP, Zoho, or similar).
• Familiar with herbal raw material storage requirements and ayurvedic product packaging.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation skills with transporters & vendors.
• Knowledge of GST, E-way bills, import/export documentation.
• Leadership skills to manage a team in warehouse & logistics.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / B.Sc. / B.Com. / Any relevant field.
• Preferred: MBA/PG Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
• 5–10 years’ experience in inventory & logistics management (preferably in FMCG, Pharma, Herbal, or Ayurvedic sector).
• Experience in handling domestic & export logistics will be an added advantage.
