We are Hiring Inventory Officer - Building Construction Experience to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee receipt, inspection, and proper storage of construction materials delivered to the site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records for all materials and equipment stored at the site, using both manual and electronic record-keeping systems.
- Issue construction materials and tools to site teams in accordance with approved material requisitions and work schedules.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts to reconcile actual inventory with recorded balances; investigate and report any discrepancies.
- Coordinate closely with the Store Keeper to organize materials within the store for optimal accessibility and safety.
- Monitor material consumption patterns and provide timely reports to site management to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure proper labelling, handling, and storage of materials to prevent damage, theft, or deterioration, adhering to safety and company policies.
- Collaborate with site engineers and procurement teams to track material deliveries, verify quantities, and follow up on pending orders.
- Manage return of surplus or damaged materials in coordination with procurement and head office inventory teams.
- Support project progress by ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical materials as per the construction schedule.
- Maintain clear documentation including delivery challans, material issue vouchers, stock movement reports, and inventory reconciliation records.
- Assist in periodic internal and external audits related to site inventory control.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in material storage and handling at the site.
- Provide guidance and supervision to the Store Keeper and other site store personnel on inventory procedures and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5 or more years of inventory control or material management experience in building construction or contracting companies.
- Proficient in inventory management software (ERP systems preferred, e.g., Oracle, SAP, or specialized construction inventory modules).
