Investment Banking Managing Director
The Investment Banking Managing Director leads client origination, deal execution, and revenue generation for the investment banking business. This senior role is responsible for building executive-level client relationships, winning mandates, and overseeing transactions across M&A, capital raising, restructuring, and strategic advisory.
Key responsibilities
- Originate new business opportunities and win advisory or financing mandates.
- Maintain and grow relationships with C-suite executives, boards, investors, and key market participants.
- Lead major transactions from pitch stage through negotiation, execution, and closing.
- Set strategy for the coverage or product group and support revenue growth targets.
- Manage and develop senior bankers and junior teams, including analysts, associates, and vice presidents.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as legal, compliance, risk, and capital markets teams.
Required qualifications
- Extensive investment banking experience, typically 15+ years.
- Proven track record of originating and executing transactions.
- Strong network of corporate, private equity, sovereign, and institutional clients.
- Demonstrated leadership of deal teams and ability to mentor senior staff.
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and market knowledge.
