IREAD Bus Driver

Current MSD of Mt. Vernon bus driver highly preferred. Drive a school bus during the IREAD Summer School Program.

This job requires the ability and necessary skills to safely transport children, good communication skills, ability to make sound judgments regarding student safety, and a willingness to work with people in a pleasant manner. Bus driving experience is preferred. In addition, the following are required:
A. CDL with S Endorsement, Class B with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement
B. Indiana Bus Driver Certification
C. Approved bus driving skills
D. Other requirements as indicated by school district policy

Effective Date: May 26-May 29, 2026

Hours: The length of time on duty will be dependent upon student enrollment with a four-hour minimum. Approximate drive time hours would be 7:00-8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (student class time will be 8:00-11:00 a.m.) Exact number of drivers and routes needed still to be determined.

The Board of School Trustees reserves the right to waive or modify these specifications.
