Install and configure irrigation equipment, including pumps, pipes, valves, sprinklers, and drip systems.

Ensure that irrigation systems are properly aligned and calibrated for optimal performance.
Maintenance and Repairs:

Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Troubleshoot and repair any issues with irrigation equipment, including leaks, blockages, and mechanical failures.

Replace damaged or worn-out components to maintain system efficiency.

Water Management:

Monitor soil moisture levels and adjust irrigation schedules based on plant requirements and weather conditions.

Implement water-saving techniques and technologies to promote sustainable water use.

Ensure that irrigation practices comply with local water regulations and restrictions.

System Monitoring and Optimization:

Use sensors and other monitoring tools to track the performance of irrigation systems.

Analyze data to identify opportunities for improving water distribution and efficiency.

Make adjustments to irrigation schedules and settings to optimize water use.

Record-Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of irrigation schedules, maintenance activities, and repairs.

Prepare and submit reports on irrigation system performance, water usage, and any issues encountered.

Document any modifications or upgrades made to irrigation systems.

Collaboration and Training:

Work closely with the Operations director, Facilities Manager, and other nursery staff to coordinate irrigation activities.

Train nursery staff on the proper use and maintenance of irrigation systems

Provide technical support and advice on irrigation-related matters.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations when working with irrigation systems.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety

Ensure that all irrigation work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Support Nursery Operations

Assist with other nursery tasks and projects as required, including planting, fertilizing, and pest control.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving nursery operations. Support initiatives aimed at enhancing plant health and productivity.

Management

Management of irrigation laborers and overseeing repairs and maintenance tasks

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance, preferably in the agricultural or nursery industry.

Experience in the horticultural or agricultural sector.
-
Knowledge of nursery operations and tree cultivation practices.
