Irrigation/Landscape Crew Leader

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Management experience needed, start working immediately. Work outside 5-6 days per week in all weather conditions. The Landscaper/Irrigation Crew Leader is responsible for installation of irrigation, low voltage lighting, landscape drainage systems, lawn maintenance, operating heavy equipment, zero turn mowers and weed wacker. The selected candidate should have basic skills of landscape maintenance, operations, practices, and equipment. While maintaining excellent customer service and communication skills. The Selected will serve as part of the Management team and will ensure projects are completed on schedule, and within expected quality standards. The crew leader will also be responsible for Load/unload of truck, ensure all tools, equipment and materials are ready and loaded for the day's work. Check and maintain truck and equipment oil, fluids, tire pressures, trailer connection, light/brakes, blades, etc. Train field team to perform efficiently and maintain appropriate reports. Ensure teams practice safety, enforce drug-free workplace. Acts a liaison between clients, administration staff and vendors. Review daily and weekly schedule, track budgets. Operate company software, upload pictures and receipts of projects and maintain notes on each project.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance, tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials and methods of irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance
  • Effective listening skills to understand the scope and expectations of tasks to be performed.

  • Work in an organized, proactive, productive manner with the ability to communicate professionally to crew members.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS WOULD REQUIRE:
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Use hands and legs to operate, activate, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials.
  • Work in all types of outdoor weather conditions
  • Operate power equipment, walk-behind mowers, push mowers, weed wackers, edge, blower and trimmer.
  • Must have the ability to perform such task as leaf and debris removal, brush removal, weed pulling, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, mulching, planting and transplanting flowers, shrubs, raking, edging along side walk and around plant beds.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Installation Crew Leader
  • Inspect all jobsites to ensure cleanliness and tool accountability prior to departure and report any discrepancies.
  • Crew Leader to ensure vehicles remain clean inside and out and stocked with required materials.
  • Crew Leader as required to train and enforce company procedures. Key training areas include (but not limited to) understanding job processes, running the machine, performing machine maintenance checks, building valve manifolds, installing, programming irrigation controllers, connecting mainline to backflow, and installing landscaping lighting systems.
  • Attend Installation Crew Meetings as required.
  • Report to work in appropriate company uniform; Maintain cleanliness of all uniform items provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Valid Driver License
  • Must be able to lift 50 -70 pounds.
  • Must be available to work on Saturday.
  • Must know how to operate a zero turn mower, weed wacker, blower and maintain equipment
  • Must be willing to work in all types of outdoor conditions
  • Duties will include but not limited to the following, Landscaping, Mowing, Irrigation, Lighting, drainage Install and Hardscape.
