Role: IT Application Specialist

MANDATORY MUST HAVE SKILL: Must have knowledge in Bentley ProjectWise.

Role Description:

The IT Application Specialist is responsible for managing CAD data and systems, with a primary focus on configuration control, data integrity, and the establishment of best practices for CAD models and drawings. This position provides comprehensive support for design and engineering software, specifically Bentley platforms such as ProjectWise and Plantsight. Key duties include the setup, configuration, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting of these applications, as well as delivering technical support and user training. The specialist will work closely with IT and business teams to optimize workflows, ensure system reliability, and maintain corporate CAD/BIM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, configure, and support ProjectWise Projects, including managed WorkSpaces, access permissions, folder structures, properties, etc.
• Set up, configure, and support Plantsight Projects, including access Permissions, Data Manager Utilities, iModel support, reporting, dashboards, etc.
• Enhance Discipline workflows and integration with ProjectWise and Plantsight with OpenPlant Applications.
• Define and modify XML schemas for OpenPlant 3D and OpenPlant PID, including creating/editing classes, properties, relationships, managing schema imports/exports, ensuring data consistency, and supporting enterprise-wide business schemas.

User & Project Management

• Create and manage user accounts and permissions within ProjectWise and related systems.
• Set up new projects, integrating client and departmental standards.
• Ensure proper workspace configuration to meet project needs across Bentley applications such as OpenPlant suite, Promis.e, BRCM, OpenBuildings Designer, and MicroStation.

Technical Support & Integration

• Provide first-line technical support to project teams for issues related to Bentley applications and CAD systems.
• Integrate ProjectWise and CAD systems with other Bentley and Autodesk engineering software (e.g., MicroStation, Navisworks).
• Support integration with platforms such as Microsoft 365 Teams and SharePoint.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues experienced by CAD users.

Workflow Optimization & Training

• Assist design teams in improving efficiency and productivity within CAD environments
• Optimize project workflows to enhance collaboration and minimize downtime.
• Develop and deliver user training programs and support materials.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for system configurations and user guidance.

Customization & Collaboration

• Develop scripts or custom solutions to automate tasks and meet organizational needs as required.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and design teams to maintain system stability and support integration with other IT systems.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining corporate CAD/BIM standards.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience administering Bentley ProjectWise, with a solid understanding of its configuration and management.
• Direct experience with Plantsight, including setup, support, and ongoing maintenance.
• Knowledge of Bentley applications: OpenPlant suite, Promis.e, BRCM, OpenBuildings Designer, and MicroStation.
• Proficiency in IT infrastructure, document management systems, and workflows.
• Familiarity with related engineering software like MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, scripting, and Windows OS; experience with Power Platform is a plus.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting a plus.

Experience & Education:

• Experience supporting engineering or construction teams in a similar role.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Bentley Accredited ProjectWise Administrator certification is highly desirable.
