Job Description
SYI is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented IT Assistant to support daily IT operations and ensure smooth functioning of computer systems, networks, and user support services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical support to users, and maintaining IT assets. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, good communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Assist in user account management, access rights, and basic system administration (email, ERP, or business applications).
- Monitor and maintain IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and accessories.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, backups, and antivirus monitoring.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, basic switches and routers).
- Support ERP, email, and office productivity tools; escalate complex issues to vendors or senior IT staff when required.
- Document IT procedures, user guides, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, data protection, and acceptable-use standards.
- Provide on-site and remote support as needed and assist during system upgrades or new implementations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar) are an advantage.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in an IT support or IT assistant role.
- Hands-on experience with Windows OS, MS Office/365, basic networking, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and helpdesk ticketing tools is a plus.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
