IT Data Engineer

Job Overview

Crounse Corporation is seeking an IT Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-driven applications that integrate directly with our existing enterprise systems and databases. This role is focused on applied artificial intelligence to transform structured and unstructured internal data into intelligent tools that enhance operations, automation, and decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with database expertise and hands-on experience deploying production AI solutions.

Responsibilities

Help design and implement AI-enabled applications that integrate with SQL databases, internal APIs, and enterprise systems.

Help build and deploy production-ready AI solutions including LLM-based applications, RAG architectures, and automation tools.

Help develop data ingestion, transformation, and embedding pipelines for structured and unstructured enterprise data.

Work directly with SQL Server environments to extract, model, optimize, and secure data for AI applications.

Implement vector databases, semantic search systems, and intelligent knowledge retrieval frameworks.

Deploy AI workloads in on-prem, GPU-accelerated, or cloud environments (Azure preferred).

Ensure strong data governance, access controls, and security when integrating AI into production systems.

Monitor AI system performance, reliability, scalability, and cost.

Document solution architectures and integration standards.

Targeted Experience

Experience in software engineering, AI engineering, or database-driven application development.

Experience in Python for AI development and automation.

Experience implementing LLM-based applications or AI-powered internal tools.

Experience with embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

SQL Server knowledge including query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, and security.

Experience integrating AI systems with APIs, REST services, and enterprise applications.

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deployment workflows.

Experience deploying AI workloads in Azure or hybrid cloud environments.

Understanding of data security, authentication, and role-based access control.

Ability to evaluate emerging AI technologies and apply them pragmatically in business environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience building internal AI assistants or enterprise knowledge systems.

Experience with GPU-accelerated AI workloads.

Experience working with hybrid infrastructure environments.

Knowledge of PowerShell or infrastructure automation scripting.

Familiarity with ETL processes or data warehousing concepts.

Experience integrating AI into legacy business systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
