Overview
The IT Executive will support the smooth functioning of IT and broadcast systems across the channel. The role requires close coordination with newsroom, production, PCR/MCR, and administrative teams to ensure uninterrupted media operations. Due to the nature of broadcast operations, the position requires flexibility to work in rotational shifts, which may include morning, day, or night duty.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide daily IT support to all departments.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and required applications.
- Troubleshoot system, network, printer, and device-related issues.
Media & Broadcast IT Support
- Support NRCS, ingest systems, playout servers, editing stations, and media servers.
- Provide IT assistance during live broadcasts and recordings.
- Maintain shared storage and media workflows.
Network & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and WiFi equipment.
- Monitor network performance and ensure uptime.
- Maintain secure access to internal systems and servers.
Server & Systems Management
- Assist with the maintenance of domain controllers, file servers, and backup systems.
- Ensure data security, backup routines, and recovery procedures.
- Support CCTV, biometric, and internal communication systems.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain incident logs, asset records, and maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software issues.
- Provide weekly updates to the IT Manager.
Job Specification (JS)Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications like CCNA, MCSE, or hardware/network diplomas (preferred).
Experience
- 1–3 years’ experience in IT support (media/broadcast preferred).
- Fresh candidates with strong technical skills may be considered.
Technical Skills
- Strong hardware, software, and networking troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches.
- Experience with Windows servers and domain environments.
- Understanding of media systems, codecs, and editing tools (preferred).
Personal Competencies
- Strong communication and teamwork ability.
- Able to work under pressure, especially during live transmissions.
- Proactive, disciplined, and responsible.
- Must be comfortable with rotational shifts (morning/day/night).
Additional Requirement
- Candidates living in Korangi will be preferred due to shift requirements and operational convenience.
