IT Field Service Technician

The IT Field Service Technician provides advanced end user and branch technology support across the bank’s locations and serves as a technical lead for field service operations. This role delivers high touch executive support, leads planning and execution for new building and infrastructure projects, and coordinates with the bank’s managed service provider and other vendors to ensure consistent delivery and documentation. This role supports secure, reliable, and standardized technology operations consistent with the bank’s policies and regulatory expectations.

Expectations:

  • Serves as an escalation point for complex desktop, branch, and operational technology issues that cannot be resolved at the first level.
  • Provides executive support for senior leadership, including rapid response troubleshooting, device setup, secure remote access support, and meeting and presentation readiness.
  • Leads and coordinates technology work for new buildings, renovations, and infrastructure projects, including cabling coordination, network closet readiness, equipment staging, and cutover planning.
  • Assists with network administration duties under direction, including switch and firewall change coordination, wireless access point deployment support, VLAN and IP planning support, and circuit turn up assistance.
  • Partners with the bank’s MSP and vendors to execute approved changes, troubleshoot network and connectivity issues, and validate completion of work to bank standards.
  • Acts as a technical lead for endpoint deployments, including imaging standards, configuration baselines, encryption verification, patching verification, and endpoint protection health checks.
  • Utilize ticketing system to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Document all daily tasks for proper record keeping and development of knowledge base articles and relevant procedural manuals.
  • Maintains accurate asset inventory and lifecycle records, including procurement coordination, device staging, deployment, returns, and secure disposal.
  • Supports branch systems and services such as printers, scanners, UPS devices, cameras, telephony endpoints, and connectivity components.
  • Identifies control gaps, recurring failures, or security concerns and escalate promptly to appropriate bank leadership in accordance with policy.
  • Any other duties as assigned by MCBANK.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical training in information technology or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years proven IT network, maintenance, or distributed systems technical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365 tools, printers and peripherals, and common business applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion in all confidential matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail.


Competencies:

  • Ability to manage high stress situations and be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Experience creating and implementing processes and procedures.
  • Comfortable functioning in a hands-on environment.
  • Technical ability and broad range of knowledge with some of the following:
  • Network monitoring and reporting software.
  • Switching and wireless concepts, including VLAN and IP planning support.
  • Office 365 and related Microsoft services.
  • Ability to coach and support junior technicians through guidance, standardization, and knowledge sharing.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Out-of-town travel is required for this position. Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • May require occasional after hours or weekend work for maintenance windows, deployments, executive needs, or urgent incidents.
