IT Help Desk Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner
  • Respond to customer issues via phone, email and in person
  • Diagnose, document and if possible, resolve hardware and software issues
  • Install, make changes and repair computer hardware and software
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure issues are resolved
  • Provide training and assistance to employees in configuring software such as spam filters, phone features/options, etc.
  • Provide remote assistance using Bomgar
  • Install updates for both hardware and software as needed
  • Assist in maintaining hardware and software inventory
  • Assist with periodic security checks including phishing testing and network vulnerability scans
  • Assist with installation and configuration of security and spam filter software.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of current computer hardware including basic repair knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2019 and newer, and Microsoft Office 2019 and newer.
  • General understanding of network protocols and architecture.
  • General understanding of firewall technologies and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work off hours as required for planned updates and downtime
