Summer Internship Opportunity: IT Help Desk Intern
Start Date: June 2026 (flexible) Duration: 10-12 weeks (summer) for 15-25 hours/week
Location: Hybrid (up to 2 days a week onsite) in West Lebanon NH
- Provide first-level support for help desk tickets, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Assist with setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops (Windows and MacOS), mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Participate in small IT projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of IT hardware including desktop PCs, laptops (Windows and MacOS), servers, VOIP phones, printers, switches, routers, firewalls, and antivirus software.
- Supports the onboarding and offboarding of users. (account set-up, equipment preparation, access requests)
- Document solutions, processes and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing.
- Helps to maintain inventory records of both hardware and software.
- Support basic network and connectivity troubleshooting under guidance
- Assist with installation and support of meeting room technology (A/V equipment, hybrid meeting tools)
- Basic repairs and replacement of equipment as necessary, escalating more complex technical issues to senior IT team members as needed
- Follow emergency plans for equipment, security or power failures when necessary.
- Hands-on experience with IT help desk operations and ticketing systems
- Exposure to M365, Active Directory and user account management
- Best Practices in IT support, customer service and troubleshooting
- Basics of networking, security and device management
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong interest in IT support and systems administration
- Working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles and best practices.
- Attention to detail; ability to prioritize and meet goals.
- Patient, friendly demeanor with a great aptitude for listening
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and ask for help when needed
- Experience in help desk support operations a plus!
- Working with Microsoft Office 365 setup and operations.
- Using scripting languages (PowerShell, bash, Python) to automate IT tasks
- With Cisco networking
- Operating Audio/Video equipment.
