IT Help Desk Technician (Contractor 6-12mon, Tier-1/L1, Hybrid, Japanese IT Company in Houston)

Job Description

  • Tier-1/L1 IT Help Desk Engineer to help maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure for a customer in Houston, TX.
  • Demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
  • Hybrid with at least 3-4 days onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st level support
  • Test and maintain OS, application software and smartphones
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Liaise with team, users, managers, vendors, and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Requirements

  • Fluent in English writing/reading and speaking, and ideally Japanese
  • Proven working experience in configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft-based environments
  • AA/BA/BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, or a related subject
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Veeam) is a plus
  • Familiar with IT documentation and ticketing systems
  • Familiar with Japanese corporate culture

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Help desk: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Windows: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

  • Japanese (Preferred)
