Summary:

Responsible for managing the preventative maintenance of all IT related equipment, effectively identifying issues as they occur and taking the appropriate steps to solve them. The position requires providing technical assistance and support to all departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Manage the preventive maintenance of all IT related equipment, effectively identify issues, properly troubleshoot and resolve as they arise.
  • Ability to diagnose and fix a wide range of computer hardware and software problems quickly and efficiently, maintains thorough understanding of PC hardware and peripherals.
  • Manage Telecom, hands-on expertise with patch panels, phone systems, cables and wiring, PBX, etc.
  • Oversees servers, expert knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016/2019 Server Products, Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange
  • Administers various networking protocols, proficient knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, IMAP and other protocols.
  • Skilled expertise of network hardware, routers, switches, wireless access points, etc. and design of wired/wireless networks.
  • Understanding of Dell/HP switches/routers, SonicWALL firewalls, Meraki WiFi, Cisco UCS, Northstar Club Software, Microsoft Windows, and VMware virtualization suites.
  • Performs remote and on-site technical support.
  • Maintains full knowledge of equipment maintenance and appropriate usage.
  • Mindful of scheduled activities, meetings and events that may require the use of technology/equipment.
  • Maintain inventory, complete requisitions for replacement parts and/or equipment as needed.
  • Review IT ticketing system on an ongoing basis, identify and prioritize critical issues and expedite the resolution.
  • Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with IT staff.
  • Conduct ongoing training with new IT staff, as needed.
  • Promote a cooperative working environment, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
  • Manage and enforce all IT departmental policies.
  • Work with outside vendors in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.

  • Experience with any or all of the following is preferred: Dell/HP switches/routers, SonicWALL firewalls, Meraki WiFi, Cisco UCS, Northstar Club Software, Microsoft Windows, and VMware virtualization suites.
  • Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and members.
  • Must be able to work a flexible/on-call schedule as the business needs dictate including nights and weekends.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises seasonal IT and A/V staff when applicable. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.

Minimum of five years in Microsoft Networking environment.

Prior experience in the Hospitality industry strongly preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
