Job Summary: The IT Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and network systems across the head office and construction sites. This role involves managing a team of IT support staff, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues, handling vendor negotiations and purchases for all IT-related equipment, and supporting the ERP system implementation and integration with company processes. The position demands a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and an ability to manage large-scale IT operations in a construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with the company’s operational needs and business objectives.
  • Oversee procurement of IT-related equipment including desktops, laptops, biometric machines, CCTV cameras, TV screens, networking hardware, and communication devices, ensuring compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Evaluate and approve IT hardware and software purchases, conducting market research to select suitable vendors and negotiate cost-effective contracts.
  • Supervise installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure at the head office and multiple construction sites.
  • Manage and assign tasks to IT support personnel for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues both onsite and remotely.
  • Maintain and monitor network security, backup systems, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard company data.
  • Oversee installation and integration of biometric attendance systems in compliance with HR and payroll processes.
  • Manage CCTV systems installation, monitoring, and compliance with UAE SIRA standards, ensuring continuous operational uptime.
  • Coordinate with ERP consultants for smooth implementation, testing, and rollout of the ERP system, providing technical support for integration with existing systems.
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and manage subscription renewals for business-critical applications.
  • Prepare and maintain IT documentation including asset registers, network diagrams, and system configuration records.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Provide training to employees on IT systems, security protocols, and proper use of hardware/software.
  • Conduct regular audits of IT systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand operational challenges and implement IT solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Manage IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to the construction industry and recommend adoption where beneficial.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 12 or more years of experience including at-least 3 years as a manager, preferably in the construction or engineering sector in the UAE.
