Network Engineer / IT Implementation Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile IT professional to serve as a hands-on technical leader requiring organization, the ability to multi-task, and exceptional communication. This role blends technical networking expertise with project coordination and team management. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to configure switches, troubleshoot network-attached devices, and oversee installation technicians while also gathering requirements and serving as the point of contact for the project team.
This role requires direct interaction with clients and third-party vendors, ensuring technical requirements are accurately captured, communicated, and executed. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, a coordinator with external partners, and a liaison to the internal project team. This is an on-site role based in Torrance, California with the potential for limited at-home work.
What You’ll Do
- Position is Los Angeles-based, and reports to an Exante360 Senior Consultant.
- Onsite at a medical center in Carson, California with some remote, at-home work.
- Leads, manages, trains, and mentors desktop and network deployment technicians during multiple implementation phases of this new medical campus that is under construction.
- Manage the receipt, inspection, inventory, and distribution of workstation devices and if necessary, handle escalations and resolve discrepancies in shipping, receiving, or asset records.
- Enforce processes for labeling, staging, installation, deployment, and documentation, including the use of Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained on all incoming and outgoing workstation devices while optimizing physical organization, storage and staging areas.
- Assists in gathering system requirements from project stakeholders so that the network equipment can be properly configured and secured.
- Works with the Enterprise team in the development of global configuration parameters for the network equipment associated with the project.
- Works with the Operational support team to perform port level configuration for newly deployed devices associated with the project.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of patch matrices to support equipment deployments and migrations.
- Periodically performs network, server and desktop equipment installations (rack & stack) in MPoE, Data Centers, and MDF/IDF’s.
- Troubleshoots and resolves network issues associated with the deployment of network-attached devices.
- Collaborates with IT and clinical teams to integrate network systems with healthcare applications.
- Ensures network performance, reliability, and security to support patient care and organizational operations.
- Maintains compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other data security standards.
- Documents network configurations, topologies and other pertinent information required for operational support.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Cisco Routing & Switching Network Engineer.
- Proven experience leading or supervising small technical teams in the field.
- Experience in the design, deployment, and management of Cisco network solutions tailored to healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching hardware architecture, network topologies and associated networking protocols.
- Hands-on data networking skills required - IP & Ethernet routing and switching with in-depth knowledge of the OSI model and industry protocols including OSPF, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, 802.1x, IPSec, Radius, TACACS+ and alike.
- Working knowledge of Cisco Voice/VoIP and Wireless platforms.
- Hands-on experience with the Cisco Catalyst 3K & 9K series portfolio of equipment.
- Experience with the physical infrastructure supporting networking equipment, i.e. cabling systems, power & UPS systems, cooling, and rack & stack.
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE) preferred but not required if a candidate has commensurate experience.
- Ability to work effectively despite frequent interruption and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, and collaboratively as a team leader or member; ability to create and implement detailed action plans.
Preferred skills:
- Understanding of healthcare IT systems and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with electronic health records (HER) systems integrations.
- Familiarity with medical device connectivity and IoT in healthcare.
- Ability to adapt network solutions for dynamic healthcare settings.
- Understanding of construction documents, project plans, presentations, procedures, diagrams and other technical documentation.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
