School IT Officer
Position Overview
The School IT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing the school’s information technology systems. This role ensures that students, teachers, and administrative staff have reliable access to technology resources that support teaching, learning, and school operations.
Key Responsibilities
- System Administration
- Manage and maintain school servers, networks, and computer systems.
- Ensure data security, backups, and disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Technical Support
- Provide first-line support for staff and students on hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems quickly to minimize disruption.
- Infrastructure Management
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, projectors, and smart boards.
- Monitor and upgrade IT equipment to meet evolving needs.
- Software & Applications
- Manage school management systems (attendance, grading, admissions).
- Support educational software and e-learning platforms.
- Cybersecurity
- Implement and enforce IT security policies.
- Protect sensitive student and staff data from unauthorized access.
- Training & Guidance
- Train teachers and staff on effective use of IT tools.
- Promote digital literacy among students.
- Vendor & Budget Management
- Liaise with external IT service providers.
- Assist in budgeting for IT resources and projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mastar’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with educational technologies (LMS, digital classrooms).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
Experience 5-10 years
