IT Officer

The Role
The IT Systems & Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and end-user services. The role focuses on operational reliability, system performance, cybersecurity basics, and user support, while supporting technology improvements and digital initiatives across the group. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with responsibility for day-to-day IT operations, vendor coordination, and system stability, not a managerial or purely support-level position. Key Responsibilities 1. IT Infrastructure & Systems Support • Manage and maintain servers, networks, workstations, printers, and core IT infrastructure. • Ensure system availability, performance, and security across offices and business units. • Monitor backups, system updates, patches, and antivirus solutions. • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and access-related issues. 2. End-User Support & Access Management • Provide Level 2 IT support to employees (email, systems, devices, applications). • Manage user access, permissions, email accounts, and device provisioning/deprovisioning. • Support onboarding and offboarding of employees in coordination with HR. • Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking. 3. Systems, Applications & ERP Support • Support ERP, finance, HR, and operational systems from an IT perspective. • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for system issues, enhancements, and upgrades. • Assist in implementation and rollout of new IT tools and applications. • Ensure system integrations and data access function correctly. 4. Cybersecurity & IT Controls • Implement basic cybersecurity controls (access controls, password policies, backups). • Support data protection, confidentiality, and compliance with internal IT policies. • Monitor and report IT risks, incidents, and vulnerabilities to IT leadership. 5. Vendor & Service Provider Coordination • Coordinate with IT vendors, service providers, ISPs, and software suppliers. • Track service tickets, SLAs, renewals, and licenses. • Support procurement and evaluation of IT hardware and software. 6. Documentation & Process Improvement • Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, system configurations, and user guides. • Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, automation, and user experience. • Support digital transformation and technology improvement initiatives approved by management. Key Deliverables • Stable and secure IT infrastructure with minimal downtime. • Timely resolution of IT support tickets and system issues. • Accurate IT asset register and access control records. • Successful support of ERP and business applications. • Updated IT documentation, SOPs, and system records. • Effective coordination with vendors and service providers.

Requirements
Skills & Competencies • Strong hands-on knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and end-user systems. • Experience supporting ERP and business applications. • Practical understanding of cybersecurity and IT controls. • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple departments. Experience & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. • 4–7 years of relevant IT experience in a corporate environment. • Experience in multi-entity or group environments preferred. • Certifications (Microsoft, Network, Security, ERP-related) are an advantage. Role Boundaries (Important) • This role executes and supports IT operations; it does not define IT strategy or manage teams. • Strategic IT decisions, budgeting, and architecture remain with management. • The role focuses on reliability, support, and optimization, not software development.
