POSITION PURPOSE
The Programmer Analyst provides support to all areas of the Credit Union with programming, analysis, and support of vendors and vendor integrations including our core vendor, Symitar. The Programmer Analyst supports existing code and creates new code and documentation, becoming familiar with configurations, settings, privileges, and other aspects of all systems. Process improvement through creation of workflows and automation are key drivers. The Programmer Analyst will support IT requirements including strategic projects by completing assignments, participating in project teams and troubleshooting IT/operational issues as they occur.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Identifies project requirements by talking with staff, analyzing data, and documenting results.
2. Develops solutions to problems by researching and understanding system capabilities, analyzing alternative solutions, preparing system specifications, and writing programs.
3. Verifies results and validates data in coordination with requesters.
4. Prepares staff to use system by writing procedures, providing support, and assisting in training.
5. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
6. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational events.
7. Recommends changes to workflow, efficiencies, and quality processes.
8. Helps track and analyze process improvement benefits after changes are implemented.
9. Completes training in programming and business analysis.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or associated discipline OR 1-3 years of equivalent experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and at least one programming language, such as C`, C++, VB, Java, or similar.
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Java, and Symitar PowerOn programming preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1-3 years of related IT experience preferred.

Sedentary work: sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)
