Job Overview:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. This role bridges the gap between business and technical teams by driving project execution, managing risks, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with hands-on experience managing IT projects in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

Location: Houston, Texas (No remote- No Exceptions) 4 days onsite

Required Qualifications:

  • No. of Years of Experience: 8-10 years
  • No. of Years as an IT Project Manager: 5-7 years
  • Project Management Methodologies:
  • Proven experience with Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of IT concepts, including software development, infrastructure, and systems integration
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, etc.)
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and communicate effectively with executives
  • Organizational Skills:
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects using project management software., and maintain detailed project documentation

Must Have Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or equivalent Agile certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with business objectives.
  • Resource Management: Assemble and manage project teams; oversee allocation of resources and budgets.
  • Execution & Oversight: Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • RAID & Change Management: Identify, track, and manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact; deliver regular updates and reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure deliverables meet technical and business standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with organizational design and change management initiatives
  • Exposure to process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with budget forecasting, vendor management, and procurement processes
