IT Specialist

Responsibilities

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software.

System Maintenance:

  • Monitor and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and other critical systems.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage and oversee antivirus and malware protection solutions.

Network Management:

  • Ensure the stability and security of network connections.
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Security:

  • Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Respond to security incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., GxP, FDA).

Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Review and assess quotations and proposals from vendors.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and services.

Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Create user guides and provide training to staff on IT systems and best practices.
  • Ensure documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.

Project Management:

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of IT projects.
  • Coordinate with various departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, adhering to regulatory guidelines.



Skills, Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and platforms.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of industry regulations and standards (e.g., GxP, FDA, HIPAA).

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
