IT Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Supervisor works closely with the IT Manager to oversee the daily operations of the organization’s information technology systems and support teams, including the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and security measures. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient performance, security, and reliability of all IT systems while providing leadership, direction, and support to technical staff. The IT Supervisor coordinates the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to align IT services with organizational goals and business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and lead IT support staff, including task delegation, performance monitoring, coaching, and professional development.
  • Assist with procurement of IT equipment and technology solutions for both the IT department and other departments as needed.
  • Support scheduling and resource planning to ensure consistent and adequate IT coverage.
  • Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring systems, networks, applications, and backups run efficiently with minimal downtime.
  • Manage helpdesk operations by prioritizing, tracking, and resolving technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, servers, PCs, backups, and network infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard organizational systems and data
  • Monitor system performance and proactively recommend improvements, upgrades, and optimizations.
  • Maintain and secure IT environments, including networks, desktops, applications, virtual infrastructure, and Windowsserver systems; conduct regular testing to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate and deploy system updates, patches, and technology rollouts with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, inventory, and IT processes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to assess technology needs and deliver effective, scalable IT solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including service requests, contracts, and support agreements.
  • Partner with vendors to evaluate and implement solutions that enhance the security and performance of IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development and management of the IT budget, including expense tracking and identifying cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead or contribute to IT projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, scope, and business objectives.
  • Provide advanced technical support and serve as an escalation point for complex or critical issues.
  • Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Experience researching, implementing, and maintaining IT security frameworks such as COBIT and NIST.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server environments, including Active Directory and Microsoft email systems.
  • Proficient with Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
  • Skilled in system monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Working knowledge of securing VMware and virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with IP telephony systems.
  • Experience with PC, server, and LAN-based applications.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including security, data integrity, disaster recovery, and data protection.
  • Casino industry experience is preferred.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
  • Able to work independently, demonstrating resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of preparing clear reports and procedural documentation; able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from users and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with the public, team members, tribal enterprises, and local/state agencies, maintaining tact, respect, and courtesy at all times.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must possess Basic Essential Communication Skills:
  • Oral Communication – verbal interaction of information to a group or individual.
  • Written Communication – exchange of information in the form of email, letter, etc.
  • Non-Verbal and Visual Communication – communicating without using words. Normally involves using hand gestures, facial expression, and eye contact to get message across.
  • Active Listening – understanding guests/team’s point of view and be confident in expressing their concerns while actively listening to the other.
  • Contextual Communication – understanding situation and ensuring responses are clear to reduce potential misunderstanding and confusion.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
  • A minimum of AS Degree in Computer Science and/or 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
CERTIFICATE & LICENSES:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Cahuilla Gaming License and submit to random drug/and or alcohol testing.• Ability to obtain a California State Driver’s License
  • Ability to complete necessary Casino Essentials courses to carry out the job responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide required licenses or certifications for a specific position to ensure job is carried out safely and effectively.

While performing the essential functions of this position, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may be required to move about the Casino floor and be exposed to a non- smoke free environment.

Cahuilla Casino is committed to a drug and alcohol free workplace. Any job offer is conditional upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and obtaining/retaining a Cahuilla Gaming License. A drug test will also be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
If no applicants meet the stated qualifications, those whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements may be interviewed and hired provided that the hiring Manager submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a “reasonable time” agreed upon by the Hiring Manager and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to complete the formal training program will be discharged.
