Job Overview

Northeastern Air Quality is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Vermont, Illinois, United States, with a competitive salary of $40 - $50 USD per hour. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure and providing essential technical support to our team of environmental specialists. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently to ensure our systems run smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to improve air quality for residential and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

* Provide first and second-line technical support to on-site and remote employees.
* Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and peripherals.
* Respond to and resolve IT service issues and requests in a timely and professional manner.
* Manage user accounts, including setup for new starters and modifications for existing staff.
* Diagnose and solve hardware and software faults, and perform equipment repairs or replacements.
* Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and manage equipment procurement.
* Assist in the roll-out of new applications, systems, and technological upgrades.
* Develop and maintain IT documentation, including procedures and user guides.
* Ensure the security and integrity of our IT systems and data.

Qualifications

* Proven experience in an IT support role or a similar position.
* Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, mobile devices, and other technology products.
* Familiarity with both Windows and macOS environments.
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* A certification in IT (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) or a degree in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
