Job Summary:
The IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role requires troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently to ensure smooth business operations. Additionally, will manage and maintain Active Directory and Office 365 environments, performing regular updates and ensuring security protocols are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Provide first and second-level support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to support tickets, phone calls, and emails to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including operating systems, application software, and network connectivity problems.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend permanent solutions.
- System Maintenance:
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure antivirus software and other security tools are up-to-date.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights using Active Directory.
- Office 365 Management:
- Administer and manage Office 365 environment, including user account setup, license management, and troubleshooting issues related to Office 365 applications.
- Support end-users with Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all support requests and resolutions.
- Document processes, procedures, and solutions for common issues.
- Generate reports on support activity and system performance as required.
- User Training and Support:
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on software applications, tools, and best practices.
- Develop and update user manuals and training materials.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT team members to address complex issues and implement new technologies.
- Assist in IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a desktop support or similar role.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency in using and supporting Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Office 365 environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
