Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Level 2 IT Specialist to provide comprehensive technical support for our regional network of Catholic schools. Working directly under the Region IT Director, you will be the lead tech for all tier 1 & 2 technology needs.
This role balances autonomy with a strong support system; while you will manage the day-to-day support of schools, you will have direct access to the Director for strategic guidance and Tier 3 outsourced vendor support for complex infrastructure or high-level networking escalations.
Key Responsibilities
- Tier 1 & 2 Support: Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues ranging from password resets to complex hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Region IT Director and any school IT staff to implement tech initiatives and maintain Region standards.
- Escalation Management: Identify issues requiring advanced intervention and coordinate with our Tier 3 network vendors to ensure timely resolutions.
- Regional Coverage: Provide remote support via our RMM tools and travel to various school sites across the Des Moines metro for hands-on solutions.
- Device & Workspace Management: Maintain a diverse fleet (Chromebooks, Macs, Windows) and manage Google Workspace for Education.
- Security & Compliance: Cyber security and student data privacy should be at the forefront of all technical decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–3+ years of professional IT experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in Google Workspace, ChromeOS, macOS, and Windows.
- Apple Management: Experience with Apple device management is required (Mosyle highly preferred).
- Networking: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals. Familiarity with Cisco Meraki is a plus.
- Web Filtering: Experience with education-focused filtering tools (e.g., GoGuardian, Securly, Deledao).
- Communication: Ability to report effectively to leadership and communicate technical solutions to non-technical staff.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel between schools.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
