IT Support Specialist/Software Support

The Information Technology Department (IT) provides secure, reliable, and integrated technology solutions in alignment with the needs and goals throughout the Company in a timely manner while delivering excellent internal and external customer service.

The ideal candidate will work as a member of the IT Team to serve as a support contact for the department to resolve system technology-related questions and issues. Initially, candidates will perform assigned duties under general supervision, while learning related standards, policies and procedures.

In addition, this person will perform a variety of other network & system functions for the department, such as troubleshooting system and server problems, hardware replacement, operating system updates, and assisting in the design and implementation of new network & system technologies.

Ideally, the top candidates will have the ability to learn, use and troubleshoot varies software programs in order to troubleshoot, train and assist our team with any issues, upgrades and improvements as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Help Desk Technician and point-of-contact for end users’ technical support requests
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; translate between technical and non-technical terms
  • Assist IT Team and developers with design, implementation, training, and support of in-house no-code software applications
  • Assist with end user training on new applications or changes within currently used applications
  • Work with departments to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Deploy and maintain PCs, network equipment, servers, and software within the company, both onsite and remotely
  • Assist with configuration and modification of the Company’s voice and data networks
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimum system performance for servers, computers, and other equipment
  • Perform recurring tasks, including server maintenance, system back-ups, and network usage analysis
  • Effectively organize, prioritize and complete work assignments within established deadlines
  • Perform as a member of a team, answer questions, share expertise, and contribute to team effectiveness
  • Document and update documentation of processes, update knowledgebase with current documentation
  • Assist with special projects, building startups, and other special requests as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotation with IT team to triage requests, identify emergencies, and provide after-hours support as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities
  • The position also requires repetitive hand movement and fine motor coordination in performing computer installation and repair, as well as several hours’ daily use of a computer keyboard
  • Candidate will be performing duties in active warehouses and may be required to wear steel toed boots and provided personal protective equipment
  • Candidate will be assisting with installation of network infrastructure in new buildings, and as such will be required to be trained on and use machinery such as a scissor lift or boom lift to reach heights of not more than 50’

Technical Requirements:

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Server 2016 & 2019 and Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems, as well as Microsoft 365 suite
  • Knowledge of network deployment, structure, and support
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of providing customer service, training, and technical support to end users
  • Familiarity with VOIP phone system installation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS programming and network equipment installation
  • Experience with supporting multifunction laser printers and thermal receipt & label printers, specifically Xerox & Zebra
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Transportation Management Software a plus and preferred however not required.
