Job Description: To improve learning outcomes for students by servicing and maintaining technology equipment and software throughout the district.DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited to: -As part of a team under the supervision of the IT Director, the Technician provides hands on hardware, software and telephone support to IT users at the Advanced Math and Science Academy;-Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware. -Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software -Provide user support and training in the use of existing and new technologies-Troubleshoot and repair common computer, software, telecommunications and A/V problems independently; escalate problems to IT Director when appropriate;-Image and deploy new or existing technology on an annual basis, field/triage/resolve/document technology calls and requests;-Maintains accurate and timely IT records including inventory of hardware, software, supplies, warranties and RMAs;-Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and provide justification for equipment and services. -Familiar with (or willingness to be trained) on Chromebooks and PC computers including setup, operations and repair. -Familiar with (or willingness to be trained) on setup, troubleshooting and repair of A-V equipment and other school technology items-Compile reports on assets and inventory controls.
- Ability to communicate with vendors and staff as it relates to repair status and returning of AMSA assets-Understands and carries out oral and written directions and ability to operate independently and part of a team-Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.-Attend professional development and trainings outside of district or complete online trainings as needed-Other duties, as assigned.Required Qualifications: -One year general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed below-Associates or Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution, in Computer Science, or a related field is preferred;-Working knowledge of PC operating systems, desktop applications, Google & GSuite, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with the imaging process preferred;-1 - 2 years hands on computer support experience required;-Abilities to work independently in a fast-paced environment, juggling many tasks and requests; and to organize, prioritize, and complete a large volume of varying requests by a multitude of users;-A desire to learn new technologies and a willingness to apply problem solving and troubleshooting methodologies;-Ability to interact daily with users at varying technical competency levels;-Bending, pushing, moving, lifting moderately heavy objects, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and diagnostic equipment, bending, kneeling, and seeing to assemble computer equipment.-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the IT Director may find appropriate.Position Type: .6 FTEPositions Available: 1
