Job Summary
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, supporting day-to-day operations, and leading strategic initiatives to improve technology systems within the company. This role will involve implementing IT policies, ensuring data security, and optimizing systems to meet SafeCare®’s goals. The Systems Administrator will collaborate with various departments to understand their technological needs and deliver tailored solutions to support business growth.
This position reports to the Vice President of Employee Engagement and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Monitoring: Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of all company hardware, software, networks, and servers. Perform regular system monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning to ensure systems run smoothly.
- User Support: Provide day-to-day technical support to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve network problems.
- Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other networking systems. Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Security Management: Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, and anti-virus systems to safeguard data, systems, and networks. Regularly assess and address vulnerabilities.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and execute backup processes, ensuring critical company data is regularly backed up and can be restored efficiently in case of system failure or disaster.
- Software & Hardware Installation: Manage the installation, configuration, and updates of software, operating systems, and hardware. Ensure licenses and renewals are up to date.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and IT procedures to ensure clear, consistent practices are followed.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors for purchasing, service agreements, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards, keeping systems up to date with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems or a related role, preferably in a service company.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform stationary work for extended periods, including prolonged computer use.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and reach to install or troubleshoot equipment under desks, in server rooms, or on racks.
- Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures (server rooms).
- Ability to respond to urgent system issues, including occasional after-hours, evening, or on-call work.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods on complex technical tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and high-volume workflows.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic installation equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on complex tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business, operational, safety, and customer service needs.
- Pass required drug screening per company policy.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements with the ability to drive long distances.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, video, email, and other electronic formats.
- Read, interpret, and follow written procedures, policies, and instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing demands.
- Perform repetitive motions, and prolonged computer or device use as required by role.
- Work standard business hours with flexibility based on role needs.
- Maintain organized digital & physical filing systems.
- Manage time sensitive requests calmly and accurately.
- Provide general administrative support across departments.
- Communicate effectively with employees across all organizational levels.
- Visually review documents and screens for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate multiple initiatives and employee events simultaneously.
- Work independently on complex technical tasks.
- Document technical work clearly and explain concepts to non-technical users.
- Travel occasionally between IN and KY offices.
- Work effectively in shared office environments with moderate noise and interruptions.
- Support meetings and events, including standing or walking for moderate periods.
- Sit, stand, and change positions throughout the workday.
- Lift, carry, and move office materials or equipment (20-40 lbs.)
- Bend, reach, and stoop for filing, equipment access, or workspace organization.
- Lift and transport event materials (up to 30 lbs.)
- Work occasional non-standard hours for events.
- Represent the company professionally at events and public venues.
- Adapt communication styles to diverse candidate populations.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
