IT Teacher/ IT Trainer (Grade 1-10)

Job Title: IT Teacher/ IT Trainer

Department: Education
Reports To: Academic Coordinator
Working Days: Monday – Saturday
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary

The IT Teacher/ Trainer is responsible for planning and delivering engaging computer education lessons for students from Grades 1–10. The role focuses on developing students' digital literacy, practical computer skills, and responsible technology usage while ensuring effective management of the IT lab and related resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate IT lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced computer concepts to students from Grades 1–10.
  • Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, presentations, and practical activities.
  • Conduct practical sessions in the computer lab while ensuring student safety and discipline.
  • Assess students through quizzes, assignments, projects, and practical evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, assessment records, and progress reports.
  • Integrate educational technology into classroom instruction where appropriate.
  • Ensure proper functioning, cleanliness, and organization of the computer lab.
  • Report technical issues related to lab equipment and coordinate with the IT Department for timely resolution.
  • Promote cyber safety, responsible digital citizenship, and ethical use of technology.
  • Prepare students for IT-related competitions, exhibitions, or school projects when required.
  • Support teachers in the effective use of educational technology.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Perform other academic duties assigned by the Academic Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or relevant training will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of teaching or IT training experience, preferably in a school environment.
  • Experience teaching students across primary and secondary grades is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals, MS Office, internet applications, and educational technology.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts (Scratch, HTML, Python, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for different age groups.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Team player with a proactive and student-centered approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child well-being.
