IT Tech I - Part Time

Position Summary

The I.T. Technician will be responsible for monitoring and completing help desk duties and providing end-user support, monitoring network traffic and functions to help ensure a proactive resolution to network issues and maintain a high level of network security. I.T. Technicians will be responsible for maintaining telecommunications equipment and mobile devices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup and maintain computer hardware/software and all related equipment in a timely fashion for all locations (requires valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation)
  • Troubleshoot errors on all agency computers and related equipment at all locations
  • Researches computer hardware/software and related equipment for agency departments as requested by the I.T. Director
  • Assists Supervisor in monitoring network traffic to ensure proper security, virus protection and HIPAA compliance
  • Assess and mitigate network vulnerabilities based on penetration testing best practices in cooperation with the MIS Coordinator
  • Assists Supervisor in maintaining software licensing records to ensure compliance
  • Creates and maintains security badges and security door lock database and programming
  • Maintains all agency telecommunications equipment and mobile devices.
  • Monitors and maintains off-site backup services in cooperation with the MIS Coordinator
  • Monitors and supports e-mail and web security equipment/services in cooperation with the MIS Coordinator
  • Performs employee onboarding and offboarding tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2-year degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
    • At least One of the following: CCNA, A+ or equivalent
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on complex projects.
    • Must have ability to relate to all persons.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to schedule work production to meet timelines.
    • Must have valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
    • Must be available for a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
    • A skills and knowledge test may be required prior to employment
